It's not like I'm a technophobe. I use computers every day. OK, so I think mobile phones are just for making and receiving calls and texts but that's only because I can't be arsed to learn how to use an iphone and the reason I don't have an ipod is because: 1. Until I get the new titanium bones for my left ear Addenbooke's has promised me, those earpiece things are of no use to me whatsoever and I refuse to walk the streets with full cans on my head like some trackie-clad face-pierced chav. 2: mp3 is the biggest con of the past 20 years. It's a hideous, format that compresses sound for a mass audience that puts convenience of access over quality of product. A bit like asking for Coca Cola and getting Coke Zero instead. But, if you want my music in mp3, then you shall have it in mp3. No skin off my nose folks. Semi skimmed Mick costs as much as full fat.
I've left it until now to launch my own website because while I'm happy to write, record and play live, both solo and with bands, I'm crap at selling myself. Making msic is the easy bit. It's the stuff that has to be done to get the songs heard I have a problem with. Both of my solo albums can be ordered from this site (the long-lost 1986 effort This One's For Me will remain lost, save for one cassette copy somewhere in my spare bedroom) and selected tracks from Life By Misadventure and the latest, ferrism, can be heard on my Facebook links. My solo gigs will appear on this site and Start The Car gigs can be found on the band website linked elsewhere on this site.
I want to thank my eldest son, Joe, for his assistance in setting up this site and for persuading me to get a Facebook account. His music and poetry can be heard on his own site, which is also linked here. To all of my children, you are my lights in the dark.
Until the next rant... see ya.
Mick
